Rice paper by the roll: 45 by 150 centimetres of continuous pattern, made for lining drawers, wrapping wardrobe sides and shelf backs, and papering whole panels without a break. The families cover every classic: damask stripes in many colourways, toile de Jouy pastorals in blue, sepia, teal and red, boiserie panels with frames and rose garlands ready to become furniture fronts, and chinoiserie sprays of peonies and birds on burgundy, navy and black grounds. Florals range from William Morris foliage and calico rosebuds to cherry blossom, butterflies and feathers; crisp pinstripes and woven kilim motifs add tailored and folk accents; and a teddy-bear roll waits for the nursery. Apply the rice paper along the whole surface: the length does the work, and that soft, fabric-like finish only rice paper can give does the rest.
